The Lady Trojan Volleyball team outlasted Temple last night in 5 sets!

Set 1: Coach Cornell played a limited 6 person lineup and cruised to a 25-14 victory.

Set 2: the Lady TemCats bounced back and defeated the Trojans 25-20.

The Trojans responded ferociously with big kills aces from several key contributors to close out Set 3 at 25-20.

The Lady Trojans found themselves looking at a huge deficit in Set 4 as the setter from the TemCats reeled off 8 straight serves and Temple took a huge lead of 17-5.  Then the Trojans responded, closing the gap until the scores were 21 apiece.  The TemCats found a way to pull out the win in spite of a 12 point comeback 25-22.

Set 5 was the Trojans at their best.  Kortlyn Henderson pounded down the first point of the game, then Teri Sutton took over at the service line with 9 straight points.  She sent the ball over and Kortlyn took over from there scoring 8 kills in the 5th set to lead the Trojans over Temple 15-6.

Kortlyn Henderson, a Wendy's High School Heisman Award winner and a Division 1 Marquette commit, shattered the school record with 32 kills to lead the Trojans to victory, while leading the team defensively with 16 digs.

Callee Simmons and Summer Montemayor had 22 assists each, and Teri Sutton had 10 kills.

The Lady Trojans are now 4-6 in District Play. The JV fell to Temple 22-25; 12-25. The Freshmen defeated Temple 25-19; 23-25; 25-20
