University boys clip Waco High at the wire, 63-60

UHS 2015 District ChampsIt came down to the wire again, and just like the first time University pulled through.

University’s boys wrapped up the outright District 17-5A championship by outlasting their longtime rival Waco High, 63-60, in the regular-season finale Tuesday.

The Trojans (25-5, 11-1) received 15 points from Ish Hook to spearhead a balanced scoring effort. Daytin Howard added nine, and Jordan Evans and Umoja Gibson contributed eight points apiece.

Zarious Wilson hit for a game-high 25 points to propel Waco High (20-11, 8-4), which is also headed back to the playoffs. Wilson scored 31 in the teams’ first meeting, which University won, 76-68.
